The Ohana Spice Trading Company is the culmination of growing up in a restaurant kitchen, enjoying relaxed family style dining and an appreciation for tasteful and healthy meals. 

Dan and Cara Price founded their company based on spice blends created by Cara’s father, Ed Coppola.  Inspired by time spent in his mother’s kitchen, he created and popularized the original recipes during 30 years as chef and owner of The Salty Pelican Restaurant in Baywood Park, California.

As a third generation with ties to the Hawaiian Islands, the Hawaiian word for family, Ohana, is the ideal name to represent the family’s complete line of original, flavorful and organic spice blends.  Ohana Spice Trading Company was created to bring a flavor-filled lifestyle,  right to your table.

In 2012, Dan and Cara decided to make a permanent change and bring themselves and Ohana Spice Trading Company to the Big Island of Hawaii.  Since the move, the Ohana Spice crew has been working to develop new products with stronger Hawaiian influence and flavors.  They look forward to connecting with the Kona community and  participating in area festivals and events.
